Empowering Lives: Soton Charitable Foundation Empowerment Skills Training and Outreach

Day 1: Soton Foundation Training Begins The first day of the Soton Charitable Foundation (SCF) Pre-Empowerment Skills Training kicked off with great enthusiasm. This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to equip individuals with the tools and knowledge they need to thrive. Day 2: SCF Pre-Empowerment Training Continues The training continued into its second day, with participants actively engaging in sessions aimed at building entrepreneurial skills. This transformative program is designed to empower widows and other vulnerable individuals, providing them with practical knowledge to start and sustain their businesses. Outreach to Widows of St. Cyprian’s Anglican Church On November 28, 2024, SCF extended its outreach program to the widows of St. Cyprian’s Anglican Church, Port Harcourt. Earlier in the week, from Monday to Wednesday, training sessions on entrepreneurship skills were conducted by a resource person invited from Abuja. The sessions culminated in a graduation ceremony for 31 women, each of whom received a startup seed grant of ₦50,000. Thanks to our partnership with UBA Bank, special savings accounts were immediately opened for the women, ensuring they could deposit their cheques and manage their funds effectively. Grand Finale: Empowerment and Thanksgiving The program concluded with a grand finale and our Annual Thanksgiving Service at Assemblies of God Church, Woji. This event marked not only the successful completion of the training but also celebrated the resilience and determination of the participants. The Soton Charitable Foundation remains committed to empowering communities through initiatives that foster self-reliance and economic growth. Together, we are changing lives, one step at a time.
